Classroom Policies

Behavior Policy

1. Come prepared and on time to class each day.

2. Follow directions and school rules.

3. Treat yourself and others with respect.

4. Be an active learner (participate & ask questions).

All students will sign a Discipline Book for infractions of school or classroom rules. (Extreme or repetitive behaviors may result in immediate detention or referral to the office.)

Students who must leave the classroom to obtain materials from their lockers will be given a tardy. Three tardies will result in an after-school detention.

(Classroom policies and procedures are subject to change. Advanced notice will be given for any changes in policy.)

Homework Policy

Students have three opportunities throughout the day to turn in homework.

Before first hour begins

At the beginning of class

During activity period

If a student accumulates 3 late or missing homework assignments in one quarter, the student will be issued an after-school detention. Students are also given the opportunity to complete the missing or late homework assignment before the next class meeting. If the assignment is turned in by the next class meeting, the grade will only be lowered by 10%. If the assignment is not returned by the next day, it will result in a zero.

Homework posted on my website is intended to be used as a guide and at your discretion. Students are responsible for all assignments given in class regardless of what is posted on the web.

Tardies

A student who is late to class (up to 5 minutes) is considered tardy. If a student must return to his or her locker for supplies during class, they are considered tardy as well. After 3 tardies per class, an after-school detention will be issued. After 4 tardies per class, an office referral will be issued.

ID Badges

Students are required to wear their ID badge all day. If an ID badge isn't worn, a temporary badge will be issued for the day. After 3 temporary badges are issued, an after-school detention will be issued. After 4 temporary badges are issued, an office referral will be issued.
